Can you believe we're almost halfway through vacation? Time to make the most out of what's left! I have been teaching summer school for almost four weeks, and I'm looking forward to more reading, hiking, and beach time after the session ends this week.
Here are a few pictures of what my weekends have looked like lately - a few great shows with more to come! I can't wait to hear what you have all been up to! Let us know in the comments!

I have been re-reading Michael Crichton's Jurassic Park and The Lost World in anticipation of the release of Jurassic World in theaters! I look forward to seeing some of you at Jurassic World at Ironwood Cinemas this upcoming Sunday, June 14th at 1 PM. This is a great opportunity to make text-to-film connections!
I write this from Las Vegas as I wait for the next band to hit the stage at the Hard Rock Hotel...All I can say is that I am really blessed to have had such a great time throughout my first year teaching. Thank you for surprising me and bringing me joy every day! Looking forward to seeing "my" people next year at PWL! Please keep in touch and let me know what you are doing and reading this summer! I look forward to seeing some of you at the theater for Jurassic World on the 14th!
I was able to swing down to both the bay area and San Diego over Memorial Day weekend to start summer off right with two concerts: Bryan Adams at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View on Saturday followed by The Rolling Stones with Gary Clark Jr. at Petco Park in San Diego on Sunday. Needless to say, I am tired of driving but jazzed to have seen two excellent shows that took my mind off of having to say goodbye to my 6th graders.
Now that I'm finally home, I'm ready to take on the last week of 6th grade at CCMES! I know it will be bittersweet, because I won't be able to teach the same group of kids next year, but I'm excited to spend some time with this outstanding group having fun and reflecting on our year.
How did you spend your Memorial Day weekend? Let everyone know in the comments!
